okay i just bought my 98 civ lx and wondering now what the hell should i do first
im guessing i should probably start with the easiest thing with the most comfort or best look first

In the meantime, decide how far you want to go with the engine. Just I/H/E? VTEC and then I/H/E? Boost the existing motor? Swap the motor? Swap the motor and then boost? You'll want to decide this before you start buying parts, as different choices could call for different parts.
I'd also work on the tires, brakes, and suspension.
BTW, an RPM gauge is called a tachometer.
