Default $*#&%*$ road construction

I posted almost two weeks ago about my cracked windsheild after a chunk of gravel dove in while driving through this construction. Got that fixed last week.

But it's been THREE weeks and the only stinkin' road to my house is STILL torn up. It's a twisty turny road and the outer white stripe was ripped up with the asphalt. No street lights. Loads 'o fun going downhill when you can't see the edge of the road because oncoming traffic is blinding you with their headlights. I've come close to eating it a few times because I can't freakin' see.

I was driving home today and hear dink! dink! dink! the whole way home. I get home and check and I've got like 10 small chips in my paint on my bumper and doors from the d*mn gravel they didn't sweep up. Plus, I've found a few dents in the hood and fenders.

I am this close (pinching fingers together) to writing a very strongly worded letter to the city. It looks like they're thinking about finishing up next week, but this has been insane. I am so ticked off...

The road to my old house was tore up forever last summer and one night when my buddy was coming over, he hit a big-*** hole and broke his rim. He went to the city and filed a claim and they paid for his rim (dealer prices). I think as long as one other person has complained about it, you should be eligible for reimbursement.

I'm from Michigan, we have 2 seasons.. Winter, and Construction.

I went through an intersection yesterday morning, pitch black outside, didn't even see my possible impending doom coming. I was crossing a 4 lane road, 2 of those lanes had been removed. So basically there was a 3 inch drop, abruptly followed by three inches up, then it repeated. You can imagine my suprise and frustration with the road crews at 6:45 a.m., when everything on my car sounded like it was going to fly off. They should really have something like that lit up so you can see it coming. I inspected my wheels when i got to work, and there was not one flaw or bend.

lol i no what you guys mean, last year there was constructionn for my old school, every day i would get huge mud marks on the side of my car and u have to drive soo dam slow else your car would fall apart..luckly i still had my old car and when i got the civic it was all finished...theres another time i was driving with my old car pretty fast down this back road, then all it went from paved to some HUGE pot holes and dirt...when i hit that pot hole at 100km/h i think i blanked out, i was sure i had some bent rims, and my bumpers fell off...the girl with me was also freaking out, luckley!.... there was nothing wrong

the city won't care. if you can, find out the name of the construction company who's doing the roadwork, and write or call them, and make sure you speak to the project manager or president of the company. it's ridiculous that you can't see at night and can end up in a fatal accident because of their negligence. they should have those little white flappy things lining the road if there are no lines. if u want to get real nasty, go take pics of the areas you're talking about and send copies to the president of the company.

after the integra was stolen, my sister got a new tacoma. well, a couple months after she bought it, the city decided our street needed repaving. they put signs up all over the place, including our yard (the joys of living in the corner house). one night, they failed to put the sign on the ground before leaving, and a gust of wind threw the sign onto the side of the truck. the damage wasn't horrible, but it wouldn't have been there if the butts from the construction company actually took care of their own property before leaving. my sister raised hell with the company's project manager and managed to get them to pay for the work that had to be done to the paint.
