Default All I am saying is that old people can't drive

So i have to be at work at 5. I usally leave my house around 4:40 make it there with time to plenty of time to spare. But not today. After pulling out onto highway 441 heading north to get to work. I come across this really old person that is doing like 45 in a 60. I go to pass and freaking SPEEDS UP. The a$$hole. so at this point i see that he is going to be complete dick and not let me around him. There is also a red light coming up....keep that i mind. We are going about 65 riding right beside each other for about two miles. there another car follwing pretty close behind, the old person in lincon town car. Well the three of us get to red light the old guy SLAMS on his breaks and all hear is this long squealing sounds and lots of horns. so i decide to make a u-turn at the light to go back see what has happend. I get back over there and the car behind them has to make like a 90 degree turn off the road to shoulder. there wasn't a wreck, but the old person just drove off like nothing has happend the person that was behind is out side of his car cussing looking like they are getting ready to kill some one. i'm glad that everyone was ok, but i would have diffently be mad too. the lesson that i took away from this story is that people over 75 should really have to take a test every month to see if they can still operate a motor vehicle.

truth be know... lots of people between the ages of 16 and dead can't drive.. it is more so a matter that new drivers should have to take a test every so often until they are deemed competent enough to drive on their own, and IMO peoples medical history that can effect their driving should be know to places like insurance and the police, so that if someone is deemed not eligable to drive that they should be taken off the road completely. or if they should have to redo a driving evaluation every so often to ensure that they are up to the rigors of driving... cause some people young and old should not be driving period...

I'm 17 (almost 18) i could pass the driving test with one eye closed. The test is so easy that its pointless to give it a bunch of times. Old people have PHYSICALLY lost the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Thier eyes don't work as well, thier reflexes aren't as good. If you give a 16 y/o the test 6 months after he got his license, he is still gonna pass prolly get a better score from learning from his mistakes.

I get what your saying about physical disadvantages, but really, especially it seems where i live up here, kids drive awful. Probably everyone I know has been in an accident, lots of ppl, had multiple accidents. I kno idiots with multiple DUI's.. Maybe its just all the hustle and bustle of the damn bay area.

Someone said,"Everyones always in a rush to get nowhere". Good point.

ME TOO!! I think that drinking and driving is one of the most selfish and stupid things a person can do. One night a bunch of us were at a friends house, and all the guys were drinking...this guy bought a brand new civic, and i offered to drive him home, since he was drinking. He insisted on driving himself, and i called him a few minutes after he left. He was like "I cant talk right now, I just crashed my car, and Im getting a DUI." It sucks, but people are always so stubborn when it comes to that, because no one thinks they are drunk.

Bah, didnt mean to vent, it just irritates me when young people act stupid, and risk other ppl's lives.

I know I do it but Im not like that. I only drink to get a buzz what a while and then go home. By that time im damm near sober, unless I have a DD. Then I get $h*ted faced. But I really do hate the elder when there drivin like 45 in a 70 or something like that.

Thats why i'm for prohabition. People don't know when to stop, they do stupid things and kill people jus so they can get a little buzz. IMO not worth it. That will never happen due to how powerful the alcohol lobby is in Congress.
