RE: Any Auto Mechanic's Here?
my first year as an auto tech i managed almost 60k working for pep boys on a flat rate pay scale. you can make money in this bussines. i dont do it for the money though. i could never see myself doing something else thats all. grew up around my dad racing, im currently not racing anymore as ive gotten back into rc racing but i still repair and build other peoples cars. although there are places that pay an hourly rate(which i recomend for the begginer tech) flate rate is where its at if you quick and thorough. IMO alignments own....they paid almost 2 hours and id get them done in less than 45 min. as far as uti goes, im a uti grad and as much as i enjoyed the school if you cant take classes where they cram the info into in a short time, dont go there. wyo tech seems to be a pretty good school though. it took 1.5 years to grad from uti with the auto/diesel program. if you do go there i highly recommend a graduate program(which i never went to)
