Argh, Ike...
Well, the remnants of Ike are starting to move through Arkansas at the moment. We've been getting a lot of wind for the past few hours and the rain just started. Unfortunately for me, there are 12 large trees on our property. There isn't really anywhere to park that isn't near a tree, even in the street.
And I just heard something that sounded something like a hefty limb bouncing off the hood of a car...
I don't even have the heart to get a flashlight and look outside.

yikes man sounds fairly creepy, I have been seeing it on the news tonight and on saturday night live on the bottom of the screen there are warnings or something. fortunately for me I live in Alberta (Canada) so no hurricanes here, hopefully your car is alright. Be safe!
remnants of ike? it's just a tropical storm now... you should be fine
tropical storms ain't nothin'
i don't understand why people think tropical storms are scary... we get hit by a million of them in FL and all it does is rain for a couple days and there's a nice breeze.

The wind did a lot of damage around the city. We lost power at 1:00am last night, but luckily it was back on in 10 hours instead of 4 days this time. I drove through Little Rock and there are trees down everywhere.
And, unfortunately I was right about the sound of the tree limb hitting my car. A dead limb fell from the top of one of the oak trees, broke into pieces on the way down, and left like 7 dents in my hood. There are also scuff marks and a crease where other pieces hit. I don't know if it's worth making an insurance claim on it. I have a $500 deductable and the damage looks more like hail damage than anything. I almost wonder if I have the skill to fix it myself.
