Hmm, well, it's your choice. Would be interesting to know if your forecast about insurance plays out. I'm pretty much sure reckless driving will hit you big way. Good luck anyway.

 

my cuzins a cop and they do this all the time cause they have 2 give otu a certain amount of tickets, my cuz said they r a lot of officers that give bs tickets, he says u should fight it

Your word is as good as his, and if you forgot, your american law is based on presumption of Innocence, so he has to prove you were wrong, not vice versa. At least you 99.99% will be able to drop reckless charges if you go and fight, and this is the major part of possible insurance premium increase.

 

but he didnt cite me with reckless driving......just a standard civil infraction's ticket for speeding.....and your right that technically his word is as good as mine in the eyes of the government, however in the eyes of the judge, the vision is definetly biast, with the cop coming out on top.....

 

Are you sure? 60 in 30 is automatically reckless in most of the states

 

hmm well im not sure how it works....mayb technically thats what it is but i wasnt charged for it??? or mayb it automatically is and it jus doesnt say so on the ticket?? however i was doin some research and im going to have to fight it......i get a freebee regarding the liscense, but not the insurance, my rate will go up and it will stay on my record......then if i get any other citation for anything within the next year and a half i get my liscense suspended for 180 days...this sux

 

If you don't have it in your ticket, then you are not charged with it. Lucky you. For some reason I thought you had.

Anyway, I think it's a correct and just decision to go fight it. You have really nothing to lose, they will not increase the charges, but by the mere fact you appear in the court you are almost guaranteed your charges will be decreased.

 

i agree with the fighting, i really dont think i can accept paying this false ticket.....but these situations (not so severe) always happen to me and they never turn outto mybenefit.........i just cant decide in which way i want to pay, the unjust 300$ or pay in my time, personally and school time, and the nervous toll this is most likely gonna bring on me....along with some decent clothes to present myself in......and all that just to get the fine reduced to a minimun of like $150, because there is no way it is getting dropped and i kno that......
