Cobalt SS... midlife crisis?
Now now, no need to get too defensive. It's not like we're over on some Cobalt forum (do those even exist??) talking about this stuff. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I happen to be with Patrick on this one; the Cobalt ranks about as high as a Neon on the automotive quality totem pole.

Ok here is a question, try to be as subjective as possible. Are the Civic and Cobalt in the same class performance and style wise? I'v sat in both but I'll reserve my opinions

I wouldn't capare the two cars. While the engines in the two base cars are only about 5 hp difference. The cobalt ss has 171 hp and the ss supercharged ss has 205hp. The supercharged is closer to the amount of hp in the civic si but just think what a supercharged si would be putting out. The civic looks much nicer than the Cobalt interior and exterior to me. The ss supercharged body I did not like at all. Tomarrow I am going to drive the ss supercharged but I doubt that it will be anywhere close to as fun to drive. I just want to see what it is about. And Honda is better known for their dependability. So I couldn't see spending my money on the cobalt.
I drove the cobalt ss supercharged today and it was pretty fast. It definately has a jump on the si but the si looks much better. It has a 5 speed in it and cost a lil more. The body on it sucks. And when I went to put it in reverse it wouldn't even go in reverse. I don't know if this is a problem for all or if it was for this one. Seems a lil strange to me. Anyone hear about this happening much.
06Si, to put the SS in reverse you have to lift up on a slider thingy under the shift ****. I couldn't find it either, my brother had to show me where it was. That kind of stuff is kinda silly to me. Just let me put the car in reverse![:@] It seems to be a pretty quick little ride though. I read in C&D or R&T can't rember which one... they compared the Si and SS. The SS had quicker 0-60 and 1/4 mile times but its roadholding, skid pad, brake distances, and slalom suffered compared to the Civic. So the Civic seems to be a better overall performance package.

So that is what it was. Don't like it, but hey if that is what they want. It was the ss supercharged that I drove different from ss. Didn't drive it much but yeah I think the civic handles much better. I could mod it for the difference they wanted and what I paid for mine. About $2000 difference. So in the end Si better deal and don't have to deal with that **** shifter.
