Um, if you're expecting an engineering degree from UTI you should reconsider.
UTI sounds like the Spartan of the Aviation industry. Just a business for the owner/operators.
There are surprisingly a lot of tech schools out there, and some of them you can find are state funded, which means you pay much less, and the school is all about education.
To give you an example. Here in my hometown, if you want to study to become an aircraft mechanic (what I'm doing), you have Spartan and Tulsa Technology Center as your choices of schools. They give the same education (although TTC has way better staff and equipment), but Spartan charges $30,000 for their program, while Tulsa Tech charges $5200 for their's (and it's FREE if you started in high school). This difference in price comes frombusiness practices on the Spartan side, and state funding on the TTC side (funding is also why TTC has better staff and equipment).
The difference is actually pretty funny. Spartan operates out ofthisdinky little hanger built in the 1970s, with a handful of Cessnas inside, while just across the runway we sit in a huge multi-million dollar facility not 10 years old with two hangers full of a multitude planes (including a Boeing 727 lol).
So why does anyone go there? They advertise heavily. Look around your area man.
