I used to have a remington 870 but when mossberg came out with the 590 I sold the 870 and bought it. Remington barrels are rolled steel with a weld seam down the right side. I used to sell guns and have seen several come back with that seam split wide open. The mossberg has a hammer forged barrel and takes 3 inch magnum shells. the mossberg 835 turkey special takes three and a half inch magnum shells. they are both loaded with OO buck, the shells are in the tube which is extended to hold more shells,not in the box. There is also a .45 auto on the slide out drawer for my keyboard,a 9mm auto on the night stand,an ak47 in the car,(no permit needed to carry that.) various .308 semi autos and 30.06 semi autos throughout the house. When I was a boy scout the motto was "be prepared" . You don't think I have taken that too literal, do you?

indiana, and I also make and collect knives. I was trained in the military to protect myself by any means necessary and took an oath to protect this country against all enemies foreign and domestic. I have never been relieved of that oath. I take that literally too.
