Default I think I'm being pulled to the dark side...

I'm starting to give up on fixing my car. More things keep going wrong with it and I keep calculating up in my head how much it will be to fix it and getting it running and looking the way it was when I bought it nearly 4 years ago. I paid $3300 when I bought it, it's got 151,000 miles on it and a handful of problems to go along with it. I figure if I drop $1000+ to get it back to where I need it to be running I could maybe get another couple of years out of it...If nothing else major goes wrong.

What I want your input on is, should I keep dumping the cash into it or save up to get my next car.

I'm looking into getting an 02-04 Acura RSX Type-S now.

keep the car you have....it's one less expence to worry about. Sure, it'll break every now and than, but even dish washers break. Not having a car payment and having money to spend is way better than having a pig heavy, overpriced, rebadged honda integra.

Look at it this way: You've dumped a lot of cash into the car already. Dump a bit more and you'll have the car running strong for another 150K miles. If it's paid off, tossing cash in for maintenance is better than a monthly car payment.

Definitely take Roto's advice here. He's thinking with great clarity and logic, which may not last much longer!

I have an '90 Hatch that I bought, and put money into and it's still on original motor and it almost has 280,000 miles on it and is still running. Keep your Civic, payments are a b*tch.
