Was working at Circuit City selling TVs for about 2 years, was recently laid off in a big company layoff. So now I collect unemployment and am enjoying my summer. In the fall I go back to school and will be working part time, gonna miss the money but oh well.

Wasn't making that much, maybe $1000 a month after taxes and such. Only thing I have to pay is $150 for insurance every month along with the normal expenses (gas, food, etc). Pretty much everything else has gone in the car because I have nothing else to spend it on and I love the damn thing.

workin part time as a porter/express tech at a Honda stealership. making around 1k a month after taxes. gena quit there in about a month and as soon as i start school again ill be working as a tech at a Toyota stealership. majoring in automotive technology and our school does this "co-op" program where we work at a dealership while going to school. should pay better but wont get many hours due to school.

So affording the mods is a patience is a virtue thing?
yes, very much so. the best project cars take lots of patience and lots of time, unless ur already filthy rich and have nothing better to spend ur money on...the longer u wait, the more u save up, the more time u have to research and spend the big bucks on quality products.

I work part time at Best Buy working in home theater and car audio and I pull in between 800-900/month depending on how many hours I get. but I don't have to pay for anything but food and gas and whatever I do for fun cuz i'm in college and I live at home still. So theres no rent or car payments. so whatever money i dont spend on gas I spend on other stuff for the car.

LoL I Work At A Bingo. :]
It Kinda Sucks. All The Old People Are Mean!
Especially When They Don't Win.
Other Than That I Spend My Saturdays Working At A Furniture Store.
I Go In At 9am && Leave Around 5:30pm.
As Soon As I Leave There I Have To Be At The Bingo At 6.
I've Neverr Had A Saturday Off. :[
I Just Graduated High School In June So I'm About To Start College At Sandhills Community College In Mid-August.
I Don't Really Have The Money To Do Anything Because I Have A $200 Car Payment..Which Ain't Bad.
&& I Have To Pay Mine && My Sisters Cellphone Bill Which Comes Up To About $100 A Month.
My Parents Told Me If I Moved Out That I Would Have To Take My Car Insurance With Me.
So Imma Wait A Little Longer TillI Move Out. :]
I Don't Really Make Much. I Make Aboutt $200 A Week.
It Sucks. :[

so..........general concensus: go to college or win the lottery if you want to do this hobby.

I'm a professional computer nerd, although I am currently most often employed as a 'roadie' or more accurately a stage hand (loading/unloading stage equipment at local bars and some light security/barricade). It pays suprisingly well $10/hr although you rarely work many hours at any given gig. I was a stage hand at the 'Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival' in June http://www.wakarusa.com/, that was a nice paycheck and I got into the festival for free and got two meals paid foreach day!

I do hardware/software troubleshooting/installation/repair. Web-design (of many flavors), and some light server management, thats where the money is at, unfortunately for me I don't currently have a job doing anything computer related (very very actively looking for one tho...).

There are other ways to make nice $$$, but they require a full time commitment.

-rehab homes
-driving trucks
-home remodeling
-landscaping
