I'd like to see ford stuff a 351 N/A V8 in a Mustang making around 360 to 400hp but it will not happen......I dont think they have the ability to do so lol.

EDIT*
Boss Mustang to be a stripper with GT500 parts.
AUTOBLOG NEWS - - We reported late last year that Ford was probably working on a Boss version of the S197 Mustang. Motor Trend is reporting in its September issue that the Boss Mustang is definitely a go for the model year before a refreshed Mustang bows in 2008. Our own Eric Bryant reported it will likely be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.4-liter V8 version of Ford's Mod motor architecture, while Motor Trend claims it will be a V8 of about 5.0-liters in size. Eric and MT do agree, however, that the Boss Mustang will make 390 horsepower.
MT also reveals that the Boss Mustang will get the Shelby GT500's complete suspension set up and that the interior will be stripped out to reduce weight. It sounds like the Boss Mustang will be a great pony car to purchase before the muscle cars are renewed in a few years. It'll likely be as light as a V6 Mustang, more powerful than a GT, and less expensive than a Shelby GT500.

A 6.6L Hemi for 26k? Are they made in China?

Untill I see the "Boss" roll of the line I am not going to hold my breath. Ford has been a solid let down for the past 30+years with the Mustang.....why should they change now.
someone should also point out that these "sources", arent official by any stretch...check it out..i can do it too..
"the challenger will also feature a base model twin turbo 3.5L engine, previous found in the charger sXT, but without the forced induction, and will be mated to chryslers new CVT2 transmission"...
rumors and official sources are different. if dodge is driving the challenger mules around the HQ/proving grounds, they must be doing it in the middle of the night, because im there frequently, and the only one that ive ever seen riding around is the detcha car. there are tons of cars masked up, driving around chelsea and the HQ, but none of them are the challenger.
again, if they are 19 grand, ill have two of them, and no, im not kidding. we are already prepared to pay 40+ for one, which is substantially more reasonable than 19k, since the similarly equipped LX cars are all 38-43 for the srt models...also, there is no substantial proof to the 6.6L. in the mystical world of fairies and goblins, it would be awesome to think that i could get a 425 horsepower challenger with an M6 for a similar price to a mustang GT, but its not realistic, and people who believe that are only setting themselves up for a big dissappointment.
i cant find anything on that blog...but it should be emphasized that this is how incorrect rumors are started, because people assume that because someone heard from someone who heard from someone who read it somewhere, that it must be fact.

Yah Patrick your right as usual, I just made all that stuff up. Just pulled it right out of my ***. Its all fiction. Disregard everything in my posts on this thread.
In all seriousness patrick, dont be so coy. You arent the only one with sources on the inside. You make it seem like you have Tom LaSorda on speed dial. lol

so what are your sources then? you honestly think that the challenger is going to cost less than the srt4?
i dont have anyone on speed dial, but i also dont believe everything that i read...its not a matter of being "coy", its a matter of having a degree in accounting and economics. I honestly think that youre easily swayed with these quotes of 19,000 for a new challenger, especially since the sources that you quote are all coming from blogs or forums.
i dont have "lasorda on my speed dial", but i get around alot (seeing as how i live a few minutes from the HQ, and my job depends on proven information) and while im sure that cape cod is surely a hot bed for automotive information, i find that all youre doing is spreading rumors, although you find them to be fact.
1. has dodge announced any sort of official pricing?
2. has dodge announced that the 6.4 or 6.6 will be in any car, any time soon?
the answer to both of those, is no...so anything else is just spreading rumors.
3. do you actually think that dodge is going to release this 500hp monster, and charge 19,000-26,000, when their flagship performance viper has 505hp, and costs over 4 times that?
come on man, its a matter of being realistic. i understand that with my business background and education, which includes working in the automotive industry for a few years, i may have a "Step up" so to speak, but your point of view doesnt make sense from a business standpoint...
if it happens, that will be FAN-F******-TASTIC...and we will literally buy two of them.
