OH man was tool live not the best time of your life!? best concert iv ever seen by far
i agree that they have eased up a little bit, but thats something you have to expect from a maturing band I think
Oh yeah!!! NIN was way better though. I got to go to Woodstock 94 and it was amazing.

1) maynard got old, hence mellowed (and why APC is pretty sick most of the time), though they still are awesome in concert (so is APC)

2) seeing NIN once by themselves is enough (I've seen them 7 times now, and I can literally list off the tracks they play in order, without even thinking)

more annoying, they don't do encores, and they don't change the song list at all on a tour. for instance, the three times i saw them on the with teeth tour, it was the following list:

1. Somewhat Damaged 2. You Know What You Are 3. Sin 4. Terrible Lie 5. March of the Pigs 6. Something I Can Never Have 7. Closer 8. Burn 9. Gave Up 10. Help Me I Am In Hell 11. Non Entity 12. Only 13. Wish 14. La Mer 15. Into the Void 16. Suck 17. Get Down Make Love 18. Down In It 19. Hurt 20. Hand that Feeds 21. Head Like A Hole

which is pretty much the same that they played at the last live show i saw, with a few exceptions: only, hand that feeds, and la mer

sucks, but i've come to terms with it

though have to say, the light show was pretty slick, but I saw RHCP do a better implementation of the same system

3) when I saw LP live, they weren't that good, in fact, for less money, I've seen far better concerts

4) the original hybrid theory was awesome, the re-release was ok. reanimation had it's ok moments. meteora had 1 or 2 good songs. the jay-z/lp compilation (collision theory) was a good colaboration, but didn't have much value

5) david bowie is the man in concert

firk...that was a ballsy statement... i really kinda like the new stuff (from the two songs i have heard on their myspace) if you really dont like the cd, send a copy to me...

I think you should have said "Linkin Park changed their style up quite a bit...and some may not like their new music" i for one like a little variety from a band....if metallica played like they did on kill em' all do you think they would have made it to St. Anger? (which was rather disappointing...but play it when your pissed off and its a different story) some days i just go for different types of lyrics and songs...i think lp is slipping...but their still not terrible! IMO. just thought i would add my .02 and yes paul...they are kinda emo now...but like i said, i havent heard the whole thing.

Turtle what were the two songs you have heard? What i've done, and what other one? seriously, if i am pissed off an i listen to St. Anger, i get pissed even more cause i realize how pissed i was when i got taht album, so then i throw in some Killswitch Engage, or In Flames, that makes me better. But seriously, i put it as my own statement, if you wanna go out and buy the album that is fine, if you like it that is fine.
i know everyone has their own tastes in music, That is fine. I just made the original post as kind of a warning to those Linkin Park fans that were pumped for their new album, like i was . I think that someone that likes say.... ahh My Chemical Romance, will like their new album, but personally i can't stand them at all.

I decided to buy this CD today at Lunch. I can't say I was disappointed, because I do like the "new" style. I think it shows a little of their versatility... I was particularly impressed by What I've Done, Shadow of the Day, Leave Out All The Rest, and No More Sorrow. I'm not a big fan of swearing, and I think it could be left out of many songs and it would be just as good, if not better... otherwise, I like the new album.

I will say this... it definitely isn't Linkin Park style... but, I think that style got a little played out with the JayZ album... [:'(] I will also say that I wasn't as impressed with M2M as I was with Meteora... I liked Meteora the first time I heard it...

Oh, and I think many bands have gotten a bit softer... and not as "edgy"... Undertow was a great album... haven't been that impressed since....
