psh if i were to buy any car in that price range id get i formula.

i love fbodies.

new car...id prolly have to go with a GT too.

ps. one more advantage of the mustang GT. its the one of the only cars in its price range that can easilly be made to 500hp. 24k for the car, 4k for the supercharger, 500 for install...ur making 500hp on 28.5k...28 if you know what ur doing when it comes to SCs.

wow I bet I can push the same numbers with a twin turbo 350z

The 350 costs more right from the start. The 300HP version is like 30k. A brand new GT with the 300HP motor is ~24k. So yea you could do it, but u would spend 5k more.

i dont see any reason why a well built LS1 couldnt make 500hp, NA...

figure, my small valve 340 is 38 years old, and its pushing a 3700lb car down the track in the mid 12s on 9 to 1 compression..running pump gas..

Your car weighs about 3700 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 12.65 seconds. That means that you've got about 361.26 HP at the wheels, and about 469.64 HP at the flywheel.

and yes, i know that a computer calculator certainly isnt perfect by any means..but it gives you a rough idea...

LS1 in a 99 or newer f-body = around $10k to $13k

Heads = around $1500 to $2k

Cam = around $500 to $800

I dont know how much LS1edit goes for anymore but there is your tuning

Long Tube headers $600 to $1k

man patrick, some of the best tuners in the country can't do that.

the stock 427 ls7 only puts out 550 with a tune,headers,intake.

I know the "goal" most people have with a cammed, intake, afr,fast manifold, is 500 hp.

I just realized maybe you are talking 500 fly.

YES that can be done with ease. I am at 540 Fly, with 364 cubic inches.

md you can pick up a 1998/97 c-5 (ls1) with 80k-100k on it for 16k.

a brand new LS2, with a cam, intake,tune, afr's,can be installed for about $13.5k.

So for 30k you can have a Corvette with a NEW engine with a 36/36 warrenty, that will SPANK a stock c-6.
