NEW LAW IN Ontario 50kms/31MPH over the speed limit..YOUR CAR IS GONE!
I thought of another thing that will most likely come from this.
Thinking of this it just might happen!
First of all people are going to try and "out run" cops more often if they are caught 50km over, because what other options do they have if they cant afford to pay it? (Obviously not to speed in the first place).
Second, this may also cause a large increase in robberies to pay off the ticket due to the fact people will go to great lengths to survive and live!
Basically this is a law, it’s a very strict and hard law but maybe it could of started small and grew as people got more used to it, but all in all I think it will smarten people up.
What could really make this a better law is if cops didnt sit around and wait for the speeders to come to them, why dont they find the speeders that weave in traffic and have a very high chance of causing an accident.
And yes this law is not that new about 2 weeks old... but I brought it up cause my friend (idiot) was doing 150 on the highway... and got caught and got an 8,000 fine, his liscence taken away on the spot for 7 days and if he wants his truck back he has to pay another 800.
...Okay.. but I was not really trying to start an argument to or against this law just opinions from fellow members, as well that doesn’t really prove opposite, I stated a point and obviously I didn’t give enough of a long story about Germanys law and history to back it up... so you could get the point right away, if you didn’t get it I said that to show that Germany doesn’t need to throw out a law such as this one to make their roads safer, what’s working for them is they are not as much trying to get the bad drivers off the road but put new better, smarter, safer and educated drivers on the road. But it could be that we are just to far behind in safe driving to start off like that...

The reason they have the lowest crash rate is because their laws are so strict with regards to driving...you just proved the opposite poitn of your argument...
P.S....In germany, people know the left lane is for PASSING ONLY...

but i have to agree with everyone that anybody doing 31 over deserves the fine if they get caught. Not going to lie though, i have gone well over the speed limit before when I am on a country road with hardly no traffic and a clear view for far ahead so I can see anything that might go in front of me. Other than that though I don't speed.
Also a good idea that I thought of and probably everyone would think of after reading the last post by Chester99civicEX, would be to maybe just inforce the law on our highways and crowded/buzy streets and just fines and points for open/country roads.... If only the government would magically do this...
