this article is pretty much spot-on.
the WRX has tremendous power, but it's handling isn't as nimble as smaller FWD cars such as the Mini or Si or even my own Civic Ex.
but the AWD definitely helps during drag races.
btw, edmunds says the car is a full second quicker 0-60 mph from their last WRX. jeezis...

I dunno about helping during drag races. I still think that RWD is the way to go for drag racing. Although it is true that AWDs launch prolly better than anything since they hook up immediatly due to the fact that all four wheels are turned. The problem comes after the launch, where the drivtrain suffers a parasitic loss due to turning all four wheels.

the only downfall with the WRX intercooler, is that it is on top, heat rises, making it harder for the intercooler to keep air cool, and then you get up to high speeds, the hood scoop doesn't get as much air being directed into it, cause the air doesn't streamline over the whole car it moreso makes a tunneling effect

... i dont like the subies... but thats a wicked pic comming from a test drive..being all 4 in the air!
