I dunno about helping during drag races. I still think that RWD is the way to go for drag racing. Although it is true that AWDs launch prolly better than anything since they hook up immediatly due to the fact that all four wheels are turned. The problem comes after the launch, where the drivtrain suffers a parasitic loss due to turning all four wheels.

[If you look under the hood of a turbo subie you will see the rad or intercooler whatever it is facing upward to take in air from the hood vent

Although that is correct, if you have a FMIC you will have more surface area being contacted by the air. As it is, the air would have to go through the scoop and down into the engine to cool the intake charge. If you have a front mount, the air passes through the intercooler. Its kinda hard to describe without using a book or something as an example.

Ill vouche for byers on this one. I already know two kids that have smashed thier cars b/c their parents have more money than they had brains. One of the kids is six feet under. The other one totaled his car, walked away unhurt. So watch out with the racing, keep it on the track. I know this kid that got an Evo like 3 weeks ago and is already racing people. I'm waitin to see when he totals it.

Is the IC parallel to the ground or is it angled? If it was angled then there would be more surface area exposed to air, but i think that a front mount exposes more than the hood scoop. And either way air is being forced past both ICs, unless the scoop provides some sort of pressure differential to pull the air in even more.
I get what your sayin Remmy, but i don't talk to the kid much. In fact i don't even like him cause he is a total dumb**** and just a little rich kid with dad's plastic, which are the kind of ppl i don't like. I'm not gonna say anything, b/c ppl like that don't listen to reason in the first place. Thier response is "your a *****" or something like that. So i'll jus let Darwin's theory work.
all in all... from what I see... the hood scoop and the fmic dont make much difference unless you are going a t a prety good speed inwhich in that case the fmic will come out on top at faster speeds.
