well, it was a bit sarcastic, but actually the trips here to begin with were funded by Spain, then England wanted to get in on the land over here, so they started funding trips. once there were a bunch of us here, we got tired of the way a king was running our "colony" from thousands of miles away, and we stole the country. yeah, it sounds bad, but we stole it. then turned it into a huge world power.
