Roll Cage
tekk220, sorry, i should know that some newer members dont know what i have...
the stratus in my sig is one of my daily drivers...my 400+ hp car is an old V8 car...but i am not one of your typical "i have a fast v8, so i hate imports" people...i have actually tossed around the idea of getting an old hatch or crx for a track beater...but im on hold from buying more cars right now..
something that i was thinking...as common as racing a civic is becoming, do you guys know if anyone makes a preformed kit? i know that for common cars like stangs, you can buy a prebent kit that justhas to be welded in..?

sorry to double post..but there are certain members here who are hijacking threads for the purpose of continuing arguements...i will continue to erase those posts as long as this keeps up...it is GOING to stop, or you will be banned. when i go and erase 9 posts from people arguing, and you in turn post AGAIN, it creates more hassle for me...hassle that could be easier dealt with by banning you.
Pat, in my searches I found 1 kit (for the 01-03s), costing a total of around 600 including shipping, I know I can find a machine shop around here that can do it for less and still have same/similar quality.
does a roll cage make the whole car stronger or just in a roll over? because i was talking to the fed ex guy when he dropped of a package because he liked the civic a lot. i think he said he had a 97 coupe and he said he got T-boned by a saturn ion and the saturn had no visual damage other than scratches and the honda was totaled. and after hearing that and reading this topic im thinking a cage might be a good idea
a friend of mine back home (did up the tranny for my v8 car) has a machine that makes roll cages..if any of you live in PA
sorry to chime in late, but Chim, if youre doing it in your street car, make sure you at least spring for Chrome-Moly steel. its a hellava lot lighter, and quite a bit stronger than the mild steel a lot of people will want to use. but its tricky to weld, and I believe it has to be TIG welded to be competition legal.
