well the system was made out of about 1 inch particle board, the subs weighed like 10 pounds a piece, box was like 30 pounds, amp 20 pounds...

wood----75 lbs
subs----20 lbs
box----30 lbs
amp----25 lns

total---150 lbs.....so i was a little off but it was the first system that i have ever made and i just didnt want it to fall apart lollllllllll, it turned out really nice but im not really all into that stuff, i though i was but i just want some nice jdm looking rims, and a nice fast car...... But a 50 pound cage would be looking better for my taste than a another 100 pounds of a system...

but it was my first system and i didnt really know were to start, if i ever have any car audio done again i will take it to car toys or somewere that does custom work....

i was saying my sterio system was well 150 lbs

i dont have a cage in my car yet, but i would rather get 50 lbs cage than a 150 lbs system

i would never put a role cage in my car. Unless it was breaking the 10 second quarter mile time.

why not? I guess if it was strictly a drag car, I could see waiting that long. But in a daily driver, with some ***** and funtional yet comfy seats and harnesses, why not go the "extra mile" and make it nice and safe?

Basically, my reason for wanting one is because I want to have race seats and harnesses. In order for those to be the safety feature they were originally intended to be, they should be accompanied by a roll/harness bar.

me either, i really dont see what the point is unless your car is just for drag racing and is not regulary driven, i think it would be an eye sore in a daily driver

i have seen cars that have a short roll over bar, which is different than a cage...the rollover bar will produce the same usefulness with the harnesses
