ONe of my coworkers is WAYYY into first gen DSMs and just bolted up a turbo kit to his 170k mile eclipse which is now putting near 400 WHP to all four wheels. We did a compression test about a month ago, cause we thought we cooked the motor and it was still pratically new compression numbers. The problem ended up being a broken spacer in the fuel pump and it was losing pressure. There is another guy with about 120k on his 2nd gen that just bought a SBR Stage 6 head and bolted it on and it was pushing well over 500 HP and he ordered the matching block cause he still wasnt happy so when the block got here he welded the waste gate open to 52 PSI to blow up the block, after 2 weeks of driving the ISH out of it he just swapped them cause he couldnt get the block to blow. I have never said Mitsu are as realiable as the Honda or Toyota, but they are way more then BMW.

I don't even own a DSM, but I have owned 2 in the past (both a 1G and a 2G), and my brother has one, and they are probably the most wrongfully criticized cars in the world, just because nobody knows jack s**t about them. But whatever. Ignorance is bliss.
