i would hold out for a turbo subaru but if you really need a car (and it sounds like you do since your drivng a mustang) then i say buy it, but it will be diffuicult to turbo in the future, because their will be a lot of stuff you need to buy to do it right

Oops...forgot to set the deadline thing. Thanks for the advice. In a lot of ways, Im regretting selling the Si. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I have to drive a mustang...

But not all Imprezas are WRXs

All WRXs are turboed.
All WRXs are turboed.
I say, if you like the Impreza hold out until you find a WRX you like and can afford.

Just do some shopping around. My fiancee is looking for a WRX to buy this fall, and she has found some pretty damn good deals. The way I see it, you have a mode of transportation right now, so you're technically not pressed to get a car RIGHT NOW! So, champ it out in the rustang for a while until you stumble upon a great deal on a WRX. It'll be worth the wait, I promise

that year Impreza should only have 165 horsepower or so. How did the owner get it up to 200 hp? Did he mod it?
either way, 200 naturally-aspirated horsepower is tremendous for an impreza - considering WRX's only come with 227 - 230 horsepower (and you have to rev beyond 3500 rpm to get any real torque).
I'd DEFINITELY buy it, but on one condition.
go to your local subaru dealership and ask one of the service technicians if he would be willing to inspect the car you want. (pay him $30 - $50 or whatever the going hourly rate is for subaru techs in your area).
make sure that he inspects the driveline for severe wear, clutch assembly and body integrity.
people drive imprezas and wrxs like race cars.
I'm actually thinking about getting a normally-aspirated impreza myself, because the new ones have 173 horsepower (plenty compared to my 140 hp civic) and it doesn't require premium gas. But the local dealerships just can't keep 'em in stock apparently.
the locals buy them and turn them into ski-mobiles or mountain-bike trekking vehicles because of their AWD ability. dammit...
