why did your Si get such ****ty traction??
i would assume it would be the same for all civics but mine gets pretty nasty traction in the snow too. i dont have winter monsters but i have brand new tires and i can hardly get up my driveway when theres an inch of snow. and if you look in my gallery my driveway isnt even steep. i can hardly roll down it in neutral.

i would wait it out just a little bit longer and get a WRX. the impreza seems nice now but youll be a lot happier with the WRX in the long run

Mine drives fine on snow and ice so long as I take it slow. The only time I ever lose traction is if I brake too hard, which isn't often.

I would think that the SI would be pretty good around the corner as well as in a straight line. The SI was designed for track racing, it does have a close ration transmission for that. The SI should also be lighter than a Impreza. The Impreza will have the traction advantage however.

Could it be because Civics are light? My Tauruses are great in the snow, but they're also about 3300 lbs each.

Gotcha.. My Civic handles damn well in the snow, but then again I have some monster speed rated snow tires on there..

And I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where 6+inches of snow overnight is pretty common.

Ok Ive been busy with work and school and what not, so I havent really been able to post, but I bought the Impreza. Drove her home Saturday. And bought a new stereo for her and put it in that night. And this morning it way raining, and I wasnt paying attention, the person in front of me hit the breaks cause of damn California traffic, and I slammed on mine, and they didnt lock or anything! I stopped beautifully! If I were driving the Mustang this morning, I probably woulda been in the persons back seat!
