If you're a well-to-do American, early-to-mid 30s, degree, 6-figure income from good ethical career/small business, paid-off 3BR/2BA/2CarGar house in good shape, paid-off vacation/rental resort condo in good shape, paid-off newer car in good shape and under warranty, healthy stock portfolio, no debt, decent looks, etc....What could make you seriously contemplate marriage in this country?

Are the tax and insurance benefits really worth it?

I mean, kids, companionship, financial security, etc. can all be had without marriage. So why would you do it?

 

Some girls want their guys (and vice versa) to make a real commitment to the relationship. And some people just flat-out want to get married.

 

well for most it's to spend alot of money, endup miserable cause they now have no money, then to get a divorce cause you have no money and then lose half of what you had.... sound like fun to me

 

people in their right mind don't get married....I wasn't in myh right mind.

 

If me and my girlfriend are still together when she graduates from college, I'll marry her so she can live here(green card) . Other than that, I see no reason to get married.

 

to start a family? Its just how society is based on now

 

the government has no business knowing your personal business...

 

Not the government, its the way people judge for having kids and not being married.
