Why get married?
There are lots of reasons for BOTH schools of thought. I thought it was the natural thing to do at the time for all the same reasons mentioned here. I have been married since July 1976 and it definitely involves work to keep it fresh. Keep talking to your sig other about your wants and dreams and find out what they want. You'll have to comprimise ALOT! If you are narcissistic, Dont Get Married , plain and simple. Marriage is about sharing AND negotiating. Make sure it's good for you and your spouse and it will last forever! And this is coming from THE Biggest C*nt Hound on the planet!

I think you were meaning "fornication". Adultery has more to do with relations between a married person and someone who is not their spouse.
Besides, some people follow other paths than the Christian one. I read the Bible in HS, and I also seem to remember mention of several people in it having concubines and whatnot. I have yet to read the Koran or the Torah, and my familiarity with Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and other faiths is a bit lacking as well. Doesn't the Christian Old Testament correlate pretty closely with the Jewish and Islamic versions, at least up to Abraham?

But being in high school, I don't have much to offer to this thread
