"civic horsepower"
I have a 1998 honda civic Lx SOHC (NON-VTEC) what is the most horsepower that I can produce on this engine without swaping to antoher engine. stock from factory I think that it produces about 106 horsepower.
I am curious, I would like to keep the engine that I am running right now, because it is in very good shape, but changing to another engine I am taking a risk, what would be the next step, I already changed the intake, headers, complete exhaust, hot wires, performance coil, rotor and cap. with a turbo charger about how many horsepower should I expect.
Street turbo or Racing turbo? With your stock engine parts, the most strain you can safely put on the engine is 6psi without blowing something.
I'm not positive, but I would guess you could get about 50HP from safely using a turbo with your engine the way it is.

What would I have to change in my engine, and what is the difference between a street turbo and a racing turbo, is there a difference in the price. I would like to get about 300 horsepower out of my engine but still keep the daily driver ability.

For more than 6 PSI, you should replace internals such as pistons, rods, crankshaft.......and also your head studs.
I'll be running 8 psi on stock internals. I've noticed that the people on here don't give honda internals that much credit (they aren't that great, but they don't suck). There's a guy on turbod16 running 10 psi on stock internals, and he hasn't had any problems. However, keep in mind that if you do run upwards toward the 10 psi range, if you don't have a good tune, you will blow your motor. It's all in the tune, baby.
