Default "Maintenance Required" light

My oil was just changed, and now my MR light is green. I've Googled and all I got was how to turn it off, which is great, but I can't find what it means. I checked the "Tech Help" sticky up top, and the link to the manual for my 98 EX is dead. So what's the deal with this light?

It isn't really a light, it is more like colored pastic or paper I cannont remember... and it is either red or green all the time. Green is good, red means there is maintence to be done like oil or filters or something. To reset it from red back to green take your key and press that weird looking thing that is a button on the cluster (not the odometer button).

I guess you did not read your owners manual. It turns red about 7,500 miles which is way to long for me. I change my between 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

My 2000 EX has 3 colors. Green, yellow, and red. Dont wait until red to change the oil. I change my oil right when it hits yellow (i use full synthetic) and havent had any issues. Like the post before said, use your ignition key to reset the switch in the gauge cluster. Its the small hole to the left of the trip reset button.

OK, thanks. When I bought the car a few months ago from my friend, it didn't have an owners manual.
