Default 12V jack issue

Hello everybody!
as you may have noticed im new on the forum and I must say after looking around this surely seems like a really cool place, specially the DIY section stuff.

Now unfortunatly I have an issue with my civic allow me to explain
I usually use my 12V connector to connect an inverter+fm transmitter and use that to listen to music because i havent got a cassette nor a cd player. After unplugging it and plugging it back so often (i unplug it when i get out of the car) the 12V jack suddenly "fell out" and was dangling from its wires, and worse than that it wasnt working anymore!
I opened up the dash (god that was hell on my back) and i really couldnt notice anything major that could stop it from functionning (the wire was well plugged, checked the fuse, the wires didnt seem damaged) and I dont know enough about the electrical system of a car to notice any more potential problems than what I described.

So now im stuck listening to the terrible radio in montreal, so if anyone has any ideas as to what could possibly be damaged, please let me know and I thank you all in advance

Did you check the fuse in the inverter? Have you tried plugging in something else to it like a radar detector?
