Hi, I have a 97 Honda civic that I bought used about three months ago. When I was buying it from a dealer I checked as many places in the car that could have problems at the time as I could. Unfortunatelly, and I just realized it, I forgot to check the 12v socket that seems to be not functioning now. Could anyone name me some on-line materials that I can use to decide the problem. i assume your reffering to the cig lighter. first place to look is at the fuse.

 

check fuse and check wiring for cig lighter sometimes it just loose.

 

I have the same problem in addition to the rear speakers and headlight dinger not working. The lighter and the radio are on the same fuse so I don't think this is the problem since the radio still works. Let me know if you figure it out.

 

Your gonna need a voltmeter. Take the cig lighter out and check if there is power going to the connector that connects to the cig lighter.

 

Does anyone know of any inline fuses or fuses under the hood that may cause this? Maybe a grounding issue? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1995 civic EX?
