Default 17" Rims Rubbinng Wheel Well Underbody

I have 17" rims with 205/40/17 and they rub the outside edge on my wheel well on the body of the car. Can someone help me with suggestions on how I can fix this problem.

What year, make, model ? Lowered or no ? Been in a collision before? what kind of wheels do you have? Whats the offset, and backspacing? Neeeeeed Input !!
I have a 98 Civic LX, and my 205/40r17's fit great... Sooo... need some more details..

Im not sure if its been in a collission, it is lowered but I discovered the problem before I lowered it. 97 Civic Ex Sedan with ICW racing rims not sure about the offset and backspacing.
