1991 Civic questions
Hello,
My 91 Civic DX has always needed a bit of gas when starting cold, or it would take a lot of cranking to start (cold only). The engine starts fine when warm - No gas needed. My Haynes manual mentions a "cold start injector", but doesn't give any more information. Does my car have this, and could this be the problem?
My other question - The exhaust in my car smells a bit rich and gas mileage is about 37MPG, vs the 43 it used to get. The O2 sensor is new (a universal one) and I'm wondering if the computer is going into closed loop at all when the engine warms up. What triggers this change, one of the temperature sensors under the distributor? The engine's idle drops a bit when warm, specially when the alternator is under load, but it is stable and doesn't fluctuate, so I'm assuming the idle control valve is doing its job.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mikel
