1995 HONDA CIVIC LX HARD TO START
Hello , I could use some help and advice on my Car. I have a 1995 Honda Civic that when cold is hard to start. The Car had been sitting for about 6 months and have sincereplaced the timing belt, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Once it starts it sounds like it is flooded and takes a minute or two to clear out the system then it runs GREAT. I do not want to just throw stuff at it to see what sticks however would like to hear if anyone is familiar with the problem. The Check Engine light does not come on and as I mentioned I can drive it all day without a problem however once the car its off for a few hours the tough starting conditions raises its ugly head. I basically have to press the pedal all the way to the floor while cranking over the engine before it fires up and again as mentioned above it sounds flooded and takes a minute or two for the motor to smooth itself out. Thanks again for any assistance

The problem is most likely caused by a dirty or bad Fast Idle Valve on the throttle body. Start by removing, disassembling, and cleaning. You should also bleed the cooling system of possible trapped air when you are done.
