1995 honda civic lx wont start

Default 1995 honda civic lx wont start

i have a 1995 honda civic i was driving it and all of a sudden it turned off on me this morning. It was smelling like gasoline, when it died i took it home, and i thought it was the distributor so i swaped it with my dads distributor from his honda and i still didnt get any spark i thought it was the fuel pump but the problem is theres no spark and the distributor it had in it is good theres nothing wrong with it cranks but theres no spark can somebody help me out. This is my only car and i dont have much money to waste on it. I use it for everything work school, its really important that i get it running pretty soon. Please i need some help i would really appreciate it thank you guys i heard about this website and i know somebody will give me helpful advice.

Ignitors and coils are common problems in higher mileage Civics but really, you shouldn't just swap parts, randomly. Sometimes it's cheaper to have a local mechanic find the problem.

Is the timing belt OK? If the camshaft does not rotate, there will be no spark. Also check for power being supplied to the distributor and fuel injectors.
