Default 1996 Civic Alternator

I am having some troubles with my 1996 Civic. The alternator has been replaced 4 times in five years. So it seems to me that the alternator is not the problem, it's something else which is effecting the alternator. I've used different alternator brands, had it replaced once by the dealer, once by a friend and by a couple of car places. So i've eliminated one of those factors as being the source.

Any suggestions what would cause this to repeatedly happen?

What goes wrong with the alternator? Does it not run create power all of a sudden? I would take the car into your local dealership and have all your electrical connections, fuses, etc. checked out.
