Default Need some advice on performance problem

I have a 97 civic hatch and when I bought the car it came up with the code for too lean of a mixture getting to the engine. Acceleration is crap and I cannot get it past 80 mph. I have replaced the fuel injectors, cleaned the fuel rail, checked the fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, replaced 1st O2 sensor, and I just dont what else I can do. None of this solved my problem. It's not supposed to be a high performance car, but I know its not running anywhere near it so should be. If anyone could offer some advice or tricks, it would be greatly appreciated.

civics may not be a performance car, but i can hit 75 in 3rd with mine so you should definately be able to go over 80. i'm sure you have, but have you reset your ecu yet? i put octane boost in mine once and it ****ed with the air/fuel ratio, but once i reset the ecu it all went back to normal

Check plugs and wires. Is it aD15B7? If so It will be a chore to get it up there if the car has high mileage if none of the essential maintainance has been done on it in a while. My car has this motor and by 70 it falls flat on its face(takes forever to get up to 80 from this point)especially up hill. 1.5 litres will not get much better than that. Make sure all gaskets and seals are holding up too.(look for leaks) If grime is present wipe it away and drive it around. When done check for new fluid puddles. Hope this helps. And yes reset ECU.

check the ignition timing as well. that seems to be the problem a lot of people have when its just a poor driveability or low power problem.

How do I go about resetting the ECU? Does that mean deleting the trouble codes? Thanks for your help.

sacicons told me this once so thank him when you reset, pull the ecu fuse , and then reinstall, start car and let idle with no load for (i think ) 5 minutes, its that simple, diconecting your battery does the same thing if you cannot locate fuse but then you have to reset clocks and preset stations
