Default 1997 Civic D16Y7 Cylinder Head Compatability

Greetings,

I am replacing a cyclinder head on my 1997 Honda Civic LX. It has bent valves. I all ready know that I can use a head from a 1997-2000 SOHC Civic. I am wondering what other heads will fit, if any? The pull your own parts junk yard here does not care if it is a V-Tech head or a regular head. They are still $28 each. I was out there looking around yesterday and they had a 1997 civic with a V-Tech motor in it.
Any input would be appreciated.

Any 1996-00 Civic DX/LX/EX head will work, actually. And technically, most 88-00 heads will work. The best option is a vtec head from a D16y8, so you have the right parts car out there. It would bolt right on and work fine, just no vtec unless you got the computer for it (and ran 2 extra wires).
