Default 1998 issues (rear suspension squeak and coolant smell)

We have a 1998 civic EX, 115K roughly with a couple issues. When we go over bumps the rear passenger side suspension makes a creaking noise. The other issue is that it always smells faintly of antifreeze, but it doesn't burn any considerable antifreeze or leak any. I replaced the rad. cap, but I still notice the smell.
Please help.

Where do you smell coolant? Inside the car or somewhere outside?

Regarding the squeak noise in the rear, put that rear side up on a jack, crawl under and grab hold of each suspension component (e.g., shocks, lower arm, trailing arm) to see whether you find any abnormal free play or leaking from the shock absorber. Also closely inspect all bushings for damage.

I notice the smell a little when I drive it, and when I get out after driving it. However, I rarely drive it...my girlfriend drives it everyday and says she doesn't notice the smell.

The squeaking to me, sounds like the bushings ? Are they polyurethane ? It's been an Arizona car all it's life, I was thinking maybe it's dried out, and there was a simple fix.
I'll get it jacked up this afternoon and look around.

does the squeak sound like it's from the passenger side of the rear deck?
