I had a mechanic look at it and he can move the pully a lot, he says "too much" it works GREAT on the highway (70+mph) and I have no problems then... I'm stumped.

The fan on the drivers side in the engine bay runs, I haven't seen the one on the left run. What fan is that?

I can't believe I missed honda_farmboy's ******* post. Don't worry, he's gone because of that.

Check the compressor clutch relay! Sounds like the exact same problem I had... intermittent cold/hot air from the A/C. I even did the same thing and went to Firestone and was falsely recommended for compressor/drier/expansion valve replacement. I replaced the compressor on my own and took it to Tires Plus for a vacuum/recharge, and when I left the A/C was working great again but a mile down the road it quit working. Took it back to Tires Plus and the mechanic started poking around and found that when he messed with the relay, the compressor clutch would engage. I took it home and replaced the relay and it worked immediately.

No worries hobo, you can't expect to keep an eye on everyone. And destruction I will head out right now to check that (if they A/C will go out, it never does when I try to work on it).

So I went to Auto Zone and bought what they told me was the "A/C Relay". I popped my hood, and can't figure out which one it might be! None of them rattle or look bad.

You're awesome! I haven't had a problem since.
