2.75 intake and 3" filter

Here is my problem I ordered a K&N filter and it is too big for my intake pipe. My pipe is 2.75" anyone have any ideas how I can make it fit?

I looked around and the filters that will fit are cheap and I would rather have the 3" because they are moire available and seem to be better quality.
