2001 140,000 mile check engine light?
Hey all, I have a 2001 Honda Civic DX. It has 143,000 miles and has been a very good ride so far (bought it new). A month ago my check engine light came on, took it to the shop and they claimed that the spark plugs were bad (though new ones might have been put in about 6 month earlier at another shop). About 2 days later it came back on, so this time they put a chemical to get rid of potential water in the fuel/engine. That made sense to me if I had spark plugs go bad. But a few days after that it came back on. I took it to a different shop in Atlanta that I used to take it to when I lived there and they replaced or switched the ignition coils. I can elaborate more on the coil thing if need be.
You can guess what happened next, two days later the light is back on. Doesn't seem to be an obvious problem or they would have found it pretty quickly. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Take the car to AutoZone where they will retrieve the CEL code free of charge. Clear the code from the ECU -- Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the No. 6 ECU (ECM/PCM) (15A) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds. When CEL relights after car is driven, have AutoZone again retrieve the code(s). Post any repeated codes in this thread if you want more feedback.
