Hello friends,
Was driving my civic today at 60 mph. AC on blast in the 100 degree weather. Suddenly the car started to sputter. The check engine light came on and lost all accelleration. I had to be pulled off the road.
A few minutes later the car started fine, sputtered and died. Later when taking it home it ran fine for 10 minutes and repeated. Once I started it again I drove it home at 20-25 MPH pedal to the metal. I should mention the catalytic converter has been rattling for the past few months. This is a well maintained car, almost 200k, just had timing belt changed along with the AC compressor and all seemed to be well. Some posts seem to be pointing to a bad catalytic converter based on the symptoms. Please help me with this one. Thanks,
