I have a 2001 civic lx coupe with the 1.7 SOHC engine. it has 104k miles on it. recently its developed an intermittent problem were i'll be going down the highway at around 70 mph , in the late afternoon between 3pm and 6pm and suddenly it looses power and the check engine light comes on. If i let the car cool off for say 20 minutes and attempt restart the car starts runs normally and the check engine light stays on for another 10-20 minutes and then goes out. I had an auto parts store pull the codes while it was doing it (i limped there at 25mph ) and it said ignition misfires and a fuel metering problem.

I changed the spark plugs at the auto parts store Sat and everything was great... till 5:30 ish today when i was on the florida turn pike and 215 miles from home it did it again.

wtf? is going on?
