hello. my name is Caden. ive never reached out for help on any of my cars, but i am stumped. my 2001 honda civic ex is not charging. i have put in 6 remanufactured alternators, and all of them have died after a couple weeks each time. my exciter wire is only putting out around 4 volts and it needs 12 volts to turn on the alternator. i went through the whole wirimg harness and even soldered new wire onto the parts of the wire that looked a little bit worn. i ended up wiring my exciter wire strait to one of the fuses in the fuse box so it puts out 12 volts, and it works but only for about a week at a time. i even took apart my ecu and cleaned every solder point. please any help.i do all the work on my cars so i know what im doiong most of the time, but i can not figure this out for the life of me... thanks

Hello...For the sake of a reply, if you are getting the alternators from an auto parts store, you might want to try an automotive electrical shop, & have the electrical charging system checked....and discuss your issue...might be worth the $$$.....Good Luck.....
