I have a 2001 honda civic ex with 103,000miles. My new extended warranty starts up in three months on the engine and transmission but i have some issues that i would like to get fixed until then.

It is an auto tranny and everytime it shifts from 1st to 2nd it sounds like im running over 4 bumps. Like when you switch lanes and run over the yellow bumps thats exactly what it sounds like. The rest of the gears shift decent rev a lil high before the shift but not to bad. Any ideas?

Also now when I stop at a stop light or stop sign the rpms drop to abot 600 rps and the car starts shaking like it wants to stall out. It doesnt do this all day just after the car has been running for a while. thanks for the help.

 

Is the CEL ON?

As for the bumps, have you carefully inspected the drive axles?

As for the low idle, check the throttle cable adjustment and replace the PCV valve.
