2002 Sedan - weird noise at high speeds
On the freeway, when ever I hit the 110km/h mark (70mph) theres this whirring/whining sound, its like wind noise but with a touch of whining[sm=insomnia.gif]. It gets louder as I accelerate, and gets quieter when I let go of the gas..or is this just normal wind noise, if so how can it be prevented...
BUMP! Igot no idea man, are you sure it is wind noise. If it is wind noise it would be more directly proportional to your speed and ambient wind rather than to how hard you are pressing on the gas pedal (RPM).
Well I don't know, its my dads car from the looks of it though, no aftermarket parts all stock. The car was rebuilt since it had been hit on the front-drivers side. Also, today while going down a hill, the car was in neutral (auto tranny), then he switched it back to D and it made a scratchy sound, just the gear not hitting the right spot?
Also please explain further how speed (70mph+/110km/h+) would affect noise from the belt.
