2003 civic ex exploded
Hello all,
Curious if anybody here could help me with some advice. I have a 2003 civic ex has 130k miles, always ran great, new timing belt water pump head gasket, head bolts, head milled, all new seals everywhere. It was well maintained. Last night I was driving and the motor sounded a little loud. I stopped and checked oil, the dipstick seemed like it was completely covered at times, other times seemed empty. I put in some oil just to be safe and thought id be fine driving it home. It always ran synthetic n this oil was always changed on time, this oil was at 4k miles.
The car just got loud turned off stalled on side of road. I had it towed home, when I looked under this morning there was oil everywhere underneath. The drain plug was fine, and I drained oil it seemed completely full, I saw no metal shavings. Nothing came out of oil filter though, but it was tight. Did my oil pump go bad?
It currently cranks healthy but don't start n is making a tiny screeching sound. Should I replace the oil pump or do you feel something major happened due to oil underneath? When I take the pan off would I be able to see if a rod or bearing got destroyed? The car is beautiful n was so meticulously cared for, hate to get rid of it.
Whats the next step?
