Lightbulb 2006 Honda Civic Ignition

Hi all, I have a 2006 Civic and the key doesn't want to turn. Seems to be pretty jammed.. and i've tried turning the wheel. I think what I should do is get a ignition from a wreckers because buying new would cost me $500 plus about 2 hours labour. To save money I'm going to try and take it out myself, anybody else done this before? Is it anything like 1999 Honda Civic ignition?

May seem like a silly question but anyway!
Do you have another key for the car? Could it be the key rather than the ignition barrell? Do you use the same key to open the car as you do to start? Just thought may be worth getting a key cut or trying another if you have one, instead of going to all the trouble of changing the ignition barrell. . . .

did you hold brake in? pull shifter down to 1 then back up to park, and wiggle steering wheel while trying to turn key, also check your brake fluid levels
