Default 2007 Civic - clutch not easy to engage

I find it hard to be smooth with the clutch on my 2007 Civic EX. Car has 2000 miles looged. Anyone able to get a quick start off the line without jerking the the freaking car?

I either seem to nearly stall the thing, or over-rev it. Either way, the car is not smooth. Never had this problem before - been driving manuals for years.

the new civics have beefed up clutches and shifters compared to previous models.

i found it hard to drive smoothly at first too, but I got used to it after a few weeks.

practice makes perfect.
