Default Grindage on 3rd gear

As the title states, it grinds when I shift to third.

But only when I have rpm above 4-5k. I have grinded by accident before once or twice on third gear, the civic has 97000k on it, any ideas on what could be causing this?

This only happens on third and I've only grinded the 3rd gear by accident before and I beleive the problem is the reason that I've grinded on 3rd so far, I've never grinded on any other gears, even when not shifting properly. It's always been easy to shift, but like I said 4-5k rpm and it grinds. I just bough this car one month ago, darn it. I still got my warranty on it, is it time to make use of it?

Thanks!

P.S. My friend had a problem with 3rd gear once too, this seems to be kind of a typical problem, is it?

as it states in ALLDATA--if your familiar with that there is actually a recall on that issue for all 01-05 civics...all it needs is a new carbon coated 3rd gear synchronizer...so tell honda to HOOK u up!!!!

Ya, it is typical, and it is here for years. I had it on my 84' civic, too...
