mmmkay...occasionally when i'm driving along and decide it is time to shift into 3rd, the shifter sometimes gets "stuck" after i've taken it out of 2nd and i'm moving up to 3rd. i hope that makes sense...and i'm wondering if anyone else ever has this problem with their civic. i bought the car used at 42k, and i'm pretty sure an old woman with no ability to drive owned it before me. so i'm kinda worried if she screwed up the tranny or if this is just a normal honda thing.

 

Without actually driving your car it is hard to tell what the problem is. FYI honda transmissions have notchy upper gears. This could also be a sign of a bad cluth or third gear.

 

[:@]i really hope it's not a sign of a bad clutch or gear. i was told that hondas don't use cables in their transmissions, so shifting can be less smooth than cars with the cable trannies. and it's only 3rd gear...never have a problem with 5th. thanks for your input though.
